OOH LA LA RECORDS: VIDEO ARTIST SERIES #16

Very excited to present the newest installment in the Ooh La La Video Artist Series from Michael Bozzo and Justine Warwick. Their third contribution in the series, this video is by far their most abstract yet. Featuring the song “Symmetry” by Tropic of Pisces (debut EP out May 13th!), Michael and Justine send us on an abstract, visual trip through swirling colors and changing textures. Speaking on their process, they explain “For this video we wanted to experience painting through a different sort lens – a microscope. Filmed entirely on a micro level, we used the colors of the Tropic of Pisces record cover to bring the album art to life in a unique way”. Enjoy the video below!

Ooh La La Records: Video Artist Series #15

We enjoyed directors Michael Bozzo and Justine Warwick’s last installment in the Ooh La La Video Artist Series so much that we couldn’t help but ask them to do another one! Featuring music by Ace Reporter, the short video features the wonderful trifecta of a mischievous young boy, a horse, and a snowball. Enjoy!

OOH LA LA VIDEO ARTIST SERIES #13

For the thirteenth installment of our Artist Video Series, directors Michael Bozzo & Justine Warwick give us an initially serene moment with a beautiful girl on a bridge that ends in a dark twist, set to 123’s “You Can’t Bribe God”.

Here’s what Michael and Justine had to say about the video…”This piece was inspired by two of our favorite guilty pleasures: British cop dramas and romantic comedies. We used a mix of expansive wides shots to convey loneliness and intimate close ups to build tension. It was filmed in Prospect Park on a Red Epic with a crew of three, including the actress.”

Daft Punk – Behind The Helmets

Mixmag took the time to put together this fascinating mini-documentary on the iconic Daft Punk helmets. Incredibly interesting to get a behind-the-scenes look at exactly how much work went into perfecting these masks, and the reasoning behind the project. Check out the short video and witness the helmets’ rise to fame!

Ooh La La Video Artist Series #12

videoartistsseries

For the twelfth installment of our Artist Video Series, director Cassie La Russa recalls a beachy, sun-soaked, day, set to Ace Reporter’s “Arcadia”.

Here’s what Cassie had to say about the video:

My video is purely visual, based on my adaptation of the feeling of Ace Reporters song Arcadia. I wanted the viewer to have a common understanding of a feeling more than a concept. The video represents myself as an artist– my main goal is to make beautiful imagery, more like a moving photo than a story.
