A Very Merry Ace Reporter Holiday Party

Ace Reporter held a very merry holiday party this past Sunday in Brooklyn and we were there to take in the festivities! An acoustic, an electric, a glockenspiel and an upright bass were all on hand to perform stripped down versions of songs from the upcoming album Yearling (due out Feb 26, 2013 on Ooh La La). The Last Royals: NYC residency, pre-order & behind-the-scenes!

At this point its no secret that The Last Royals‘ debut album Twistification will be out Jan 8 on Ooh La La, and things are really starting to heat up as that date nears. The band just announced a residency in January at Rockwood Music Hall, in the larger second room. Here is the info:

Ace Reporter post new song to benefit Sandy victims

In the wake of a horrific natural disaster, Ooh La La‘s newest family member, Ace Reporter, has shown compassion and talent on the highest of levels. Chris Snyder (Ace Reporter) channeled his sympathy for the victims of Hurricane Sandy into writing a brand new song entitled “Empress (It’s Gonna Be A Long Night).” The band has posted the song on t heir bandcamp page and all proceeds will go to the Red Cross. Here’s what Chris has to say about the song:

“In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, I wanted to do something to help out with the relief efforts in New York and New Jersey. “Empress” is a love song for New York, a testament to the city’s resilience. All proceeds from the sale of “Empress” will go to the Red Cross’s ongoing relief efforts for Sandy’s victims. Go to www.redcross.org to learn how you can help.” – Ace Reporter

We couldn’t be more excited about this brand new video for The Last Royals‘ song “Only The Brave.” The video was recorded right here in NYC by film making team Think/Feel and the good people over at Paste have the exclusive premiere. Don’t wait a moment longer and GO WATCH!

Ooh La La Official CMJ Showcase!

We are very excited to announce our very first official CMJ showcase! It will take place on Tuesday, October 16 (that’s right, its a CMJ kickoff party!) at The Studio @ Webster Hall. We have an immaculate lineup, and some complimentary beverages as well! There will be a straight rye whiskey tasting, courtesy of our friends at Whistle Pig.

Doors open at 7:00pm and bands play until 1:00am. The Jane Doze will be DJing for the rest of the night from there on out, as well as in between sets, so bring your dancing shoes. It’s gonna be a long, fun night.

The lineup, from opener to closer is as follows: Starlight Girls, Ace Reporter, Gospels, Born Cages, The Last Royals & Ambassadors.

Also, there will be an extremely limited run of hand-screened 18″ x 24″ artist-series posters available for sale at the show (seen above). The posters were designed and screen printed by the fine folks at HAM.

We’re really proud and excited about this, and certainly hope to see you there. All badges get in free all night, and non badge holders can purchase tickets here. Come find us at the show!
