Ace Reporter Hits The Road

Attention Philly, New York, DC and Chicago!

What better way to ride out the dog days of summer than to throw back a cold one and dance to some Ace Reporter? Well, now’s your chance! Ace Reporter will be appearing live and in the flesh in your city this August!

Here’s what frontman Chris Snyder had to say about the upcoming shows in their monthly newsletter:

Hey there,

It’s that time again — everyone’s either on vacation or really wishing they were. (I’m kind of perennially in that second category, but whatever. Plenty of time to vacation when I’m too old to play rock shows.)

On that note, it’s time to play some shows! As I may have mentioned in a previous missive, Ace Reporter has shifted its residence to the shores of Lake Michigan, and this is going to be the first few shows featuring a brand-new Chicago-based lineup. So come out and help us get our sea legs underneath us…

White Arrows recently dropped their new video for ‘Little Birds’ via the AV Club. Directed by Evan Koga, the video features a stride down a pier, some dead fish, spiritual ascension….and a 75-foot pier jump by the band. We know you want to start watching right away – peep the video below:

The Last Royals play Firefly Festival this weekend!

Team Ooh La La are packing up and headed south to Dover, Delaware this weekend for Firefly Festival.  The Last Royals are playing not once, but twice at the festival, alongside The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Vampire Weekend, Foster The People and many many more.  They will be performing at 5:00pm on in the “Coffee House” on Saturday and at 1:00pm on “The Porch” stage on Sunday.  That stage is being headlined by Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra later that day.  Come find us in the crowd!

The Last Royals Premiere I Hate California Video on Tumblr

The Last Royals premiered a brand new video for the song “I Hate California” from their debut album Twistification on Tumblr this week.  Tumblr only started featuring music videos recently, so if you ask us, this is pretty damn cool.  Also, to save you a step, we’ve got the video right here easy viewage:

Shot in southern California by director and cinematographer Matt Sanders, this black and white short is comprised 100% of reflected images, a deliberate device for focusing on the song’s meaning.

The band also recently performed at a VIP pre-party for Jerry Seinfeld‘s Stand Up For A Cure benefit show at the Madison Square Garden Theater.  Their efforts combined hopefully made a difference in the war on diabetes.  It was also a lot of fun, and a lot of great photos came out of it, on and off the red carpet.  Enjoy!
