I’m thrilled to welcome Josh Scott and his new band, Aero Flynn, to the Ooh La La Records family. Everything you need to know about this incredible new artist and release can be found here: http://aeroflynn.org/.

It’s true, all vinyl and other Ooh La La products are on extended SALE right now for the holidays. It might be too late to get those CD stocking stuffers or snag some vinyl for under the tree/menorah, but its NEVER TOO LATE to add some great records to your collection. Or give a belated gift to your step brother. Head over to the Ooh La La store now and treat yourself to some new tunes for the beginning of the year!
Earlier this year I met a young dude from London named Harvey Tatsu Jones with an interesting story and wild taste in music. He is from Japan, lived in Santiago for 8 years, and is now based in London. Talk about world traveller! We got to talking and found we had similar taste in music. I would now introduce you to his label: ENDEMIKA
We’ve decided to collaborate on some playlists and share each other’s music across the pond. I’ve picked some personal favorites from his catalog and created a playlist on SoundCloud to showcase the awesome production and Harvey’s amazing taste. Check out the tunes and and let me know what you think by re-sharing, favoriting, and commenting on the playlist.

Owen and James from Longfellow sat down with HIP VIDEO PROMO while in town for CMJ to discuss their video for “Kiss-Hug-Make Up”.

I was talking to Chris from Ace Reporter the other week about Halloween and what we were both planning to do with ourselves. We got to talking about Halloween music, creepy soundscapes, and the underlying question: what does Halloween sound like? Danny Elfman quickly came up, which of course led us to Oingo Boingo and their song “Dead Man’s Party”. Chris started playing around with his own cover of the strange composition. Check out videos below to see the original (highly entertaining video) and a sample of Chris from Ace Reporter’s strange interpretation of the tune sans Danny Elfman’s epic eyeliner.

In-Flight Safety release their third album “Conversationalist” available now via Ooh La La Records and on iTunes, Spotify, and every other digital retailer under the sun. After a busy week in NYC for CMJ Music Marathon the band played to packed crowds in New Hampshire and Maine on their way home to Halifax. The band will be touring in support of the album through winter and spring 2015.
In-Flight Safety have created an album that is true to their history, but is their most adventurous and honest yet. The ten tracks on Conversationalist have guitar hooks that will get stuck in your head and make you want to dance all night, but the imagery is more mysterious. Mixed by Gus van Go (The Stills, Hollerado) in Brooklyn NY, Conversationalist is a study of beauty in opposites, and this record is both pragmatic and ethereal – it builds and burns, leaving you wanting more. It’s a love letter and a breakup in one album.
